From the reign of Spanish King Philip III (1598-1621), this eight Reales was the largest silver coin of the time, and the ancestor of the U.S Silver Dollar. This coin is from the wreck of the ship "Nuestra Senora de Atocha", discovered by Mel Fisher, and salvaged by his company, Treasure Salvors, Inc. Included with this piece is the original company certificate, with photos, dated June 15, 1987. The piece was then fitted with a hand-made 14k Gold frame, and a new certificate prepared, also with photo, in Florida, signed by a Numismatic analyst, and sealed by a notary public, and dated April 29, 1994! This piece was then selected for, and sold by "The British Outpost" in the Cayman Islands.
