Meissen display plates/dishes decorated with panels of different hand-painted courting couples alternated with flowers on a background of pale aquamarine-color. The factory of Meissen was founded in 1710. Originally situated in Dresden, it was later moved to Meissen to better guard the secret of hard paste porcelain. The Meissen factory is still operational and produces one of the worlds' most expensive porcelain. All five plates are marked on the underside with the Meissen mark of two crossed swords (appears to be the one in use in the 1825-1924 period). The sword marks have two cancellation marks, a sign Meissen used when the painting was not 100% perfect. In very good condition with some wear to paint but no chips, cracks nor restorations. All five plates come with copper wires and are ready to hang on the wall. Please ask questions, request additional photos and shipping costs before buying.
