Meet Me in St. Louis. Two horse-drawn c
Meet Me in St. Louis. Two horse-drawn carriage items: 1) Charming nineteenth-century celluloid advertising pin, "Union Carriage Co., St. Louis." Flags and patriotic shield, in brass badge-shaped frame. About 1 x 1. Original pin on back (sans tiny catch). Colors slightly faded, else very good. 2) Large advertising soupspoon with delightful buggy intricately inscribed in bowl. "Banner Buggies" in spoon and on handle. Built in St. Louis by Russell Gardner, who later built bodies for Chevrolet, ultimately controlling all Chevy business in the Mississippi River Valley; his Gardner automobile, 1920-31, enjoyed much success. William Rogers mark, probably silverplate.
