This is a circa 1809-1830 Mediterranean Naval Dragoon Flintlock pistol with a Percussion Conversion in a .72 caliber. The pistol shows brass trigger guard, brass pommel, and brass front cap all marked with a crown over a "P". Top of the barrel attachment is marked, "I.E. AN". A near exact pistol shows other markings such as, "R 1809" and a "J" (this pistol's marks are worn illegibly). The pistol does not have a trigger. The piece is 14"L overall with a 7 7/8"L barrel. Rare large caliber and scarcely seen Mediterranean Naval Military issue pistol. NO FFL.
