The importance of this coinage in history is incomparable as many were used by the Spaniards and patriots during the wars for independence. The provisional coins are probably the most prominent pieces in the numismatic history of the Americas as they were used to pay soldiers and government employees and stabilize the economies of each revolutionary society. The book presents historical information of each provisional mint, and the mints are presented in alphabetical order.
