Chchindaka Nagas of Chakrakota, Someshvaradeva, Gold Gadyanaka, 3.85g, Uniface, 8X “Sri Sri Aa na na Si nga ma” Kannada circumfluent legend punches, 1X Central punch of Tiger-calf facing left, Sun and moon symbols above’ on obverse. Extremely fine, extremely rare.
The Chhindaka Nagas founded their kingdom along the river basins of Godavari – Indravathi, also known as Chakrakota mandala. They ruled this region for more than 500 years between 8th and 14th century CE. Their coins are thin and as broad as 40mm in size, unique and pleasure for eyes.
