Kalachuris of Kalyana?, gold punch marked gadyana of Singhana (1180-1190 AD), 3.45g. Obv: Nine punches, 5 x stylized lion facing left, 2 x Kannada letter 'Shri', 2 x Kannada legend Si(n)ga.

Extremely fine, Very scarce.

The attribution of this coin to the Kalachuri ruler Singhana is tentative. It is unusual that it bears two punches of the same Kannada inscription, usually, one of these is replaced with a punch of a symbol having a dynastic context.
