Bhogavati or Bhogamati was the name of a mythological city situated on the river Sarasvati. In medieval times, it came to be associated with a city located in the region of the Gulf of Khambayat. Coins with similar legend are also known in other types and they might be feudatory issues of a dynasty that was in charge of this region.
