Early Medieval Maharashtra, Khandesh region - 'bull' type alloyed copper coin of 'Vishnukundin' fabric, attributed to 'Kushala'/'Vishala', probably a local Rashtrakuta ruler (c.600-700 AD), 2.55g. Obv: bull standing facing right; Brahmi legend Kushalah / Vishalah above. Rev: Kalasha or vase of plenty between two lamp-posts within a rayed circle.

Good Very fine, Very rare.

The name of the ruler here is uncertain - the first letter looks like 'Ku' but could also be 'Vi'. The lineage of this king is unknown but a coin in his name is known for the first time.
