Hoyasalas of Dwarasamudra, Vinayaditya, Gold Gadyana, 4.03g, Obv: Double headed mythical bird standing to right above the central motif Lion, Sun and Crescent symbols on two side of the bird, Conch next to Crescent and Pedestal lamp in front of the Lion. A pair of Peeta below the Lion, Rev: Three-line Kannada legend “Shri ma/laparo/lu ganda”, the title of King Vinayaditya”. Very Fine+ for the type, exceedingly Rare and choice specimen.
The word Malaparolu ganda means the chief of the Malapa. Malapa refers to the people who belonged to the hilly terrain of Coorg and Hassan which was ruled by the Kongalvas.
