Auction Details

To start the day we present a wonderful collection of Medical and Scientific Instruments. This sale includes a large group of medical and dental items, a very important collection of calculators and slide rules, office items such as early check punches and registers and pre-1950 spy and surveillance equipment Among the many highlights are a previously unrecorded 19th c. Ohio-made "Kwik Calculator", "McFarlanes Calculating Cylinder", " Higgins Patent [mechanical] Calculating Triangle", "Wheilon Calculometer, "Bair-Fulton American Calculator”, a “Pascaline Calculator”, etc; as well as a number of 19th-century and 20th-century slide rules including several special purpose rules for artillery, brewing and more esoteric applications. The office machine section includes check protectors such as the Abbott Automatic Check Perforator, Lightning Check Punch and the United States Check Punch, etc., plus an early mechanical envelope sealer. Pencil sharpeners are also present and among them are a: "Perfect Pencil Pointer" and a" Jupiter Pencil Mechanical Sharpener". Among the medical lots are Civil War-era amputation sets, a scarce cased Ammoniaphone, a number of rare ophthalmic items including a "Dr. Culbertson's Prisoptometer", many unusual quack devices, porcelain enemas, Anesthesia, ENT and urological instruments. Finally, the surveillance equipment section contains an FBI "black bag" and a cased US Army 1944 Signal Corps listening device. Something for everyone who collects science and technology! In addition we have a single owner collection of Red Cross Posters, Postcards and Ephemera, Early Medical related Books and more.
