Medaryville, IN - $20 1902 Date Back Fr. 644 The First NB Ch. # (M)8537
We sold this Choice Crisp Uncirculated rarity once before, at our January, 1999 Orlando auction, where it went for $4,675. The only $20 Date Back known from here and one of only two or three large size notes known total from this issuer, depending on the census source one relies on, this is quite simply one of the nicest looking Third Charter Blue Seals you'll ever see. The margins are evenly balanced, the color is knock your socks off stunning and the delicate officers' signatures are every bit as strong as the day they were laid down. This was the only federally chartered bank in this small Pulaski County hamlet, starting up in 1907 and ceasing operations in 1927, after issuing a total circulation of just $65,500 in Red Seals, Date Backs and Plain Backs. This is the only Date Back verified to date. Any Indiana collection will immediately be enhanced by the addition of this rare note. Bid accordingly.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
