<B>Meadville, MS- County of Franklin</B></I> $2.25 Nov. 1, 1862 Leggett UNL Kraus UNL<BR> An extremely rare note which traces its pedigree to the Herb and Martha Schingoethe collection, where it appeared as part of their denomination collection sold in July of 2006, when it realized $2400. Prior to that it was part of legendary author and dealer Grover Criswell's denomination collection. Roger Durand considered this a key piece in any odd denomination collection, and, in his book, <I>Interesting Notes About Denominations,</B></I> lists this denomination, which was issued only in Mississippi, as "Uncollectible" with just two such examples reported at the time of its publication.
