This impressive collection of U.S. political and military documents dating from Colonial America to the 1920's was part of the collection of Mayor Jay Garnor of New York City in the 1910's. Included are handwritten Supreme Court case files for the People of New York v. the New York City Railroad, the signature of Martin Van Buren on his Presidential Address of 1838, multiple Civil War signatures and documents that include a CDV of Thomas Wentworth Higginson, City of New York Marine Court federal papers, the signatures of multiple New York City mayors, and much more. These items have not been authenticated by a third party. They are being sold as-is as a group and are not subject to return. We make every attempt to offer original signatures but in group lots we encourage the buyer to use their judgment. (PDF for this Lot)
