Maynard Model 1873 single shot target rifle with 2 barrels, deluxe checkered walnut stock, period cased with accessories, serial number 25769. The 1st barrel measures approximately .41 caliber rifled and is 26”in length and is not serial numbered or marked but is fitted to this rifle with lever attached and a hooded type front sight. The barrel retains 80% to 90% original blue with strong traces of case hardening on the leverand an excellent to near mint bore. The 2nd barrel measures 26” and is smoothbored and is slightly less than 28 gauge. This barrel is also unmarked and shows no serial numbers, no rear sight to be used as a shotgun withfront bead. This barrel also with lever shows 30% to 50% brown finish with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. This combination rifle/shotgun is contained within a well-made shooters type case of the period that includes a sizing tool, a mold, a removable pistol grip and primer removal tool.
