Maynard .52 caliber Breech-loading model 1865 Civil War carbine, blue and case hardened finish, cartouched stocks, #22718. The barrel shows 80-90% original blue finish just starting to tone and dull slightly with some beginning age. A coupleareas of discoloration and lightening of the finish to the edges. The frame shows 60-70% case hardening, some scratches and marks at the edges. Two frame screws on right side are marred. Markings good, metal surfaces generally very goodoverall. The stock is very good plus to near fine. The two sharp cartouches, some darkening, and minor storage type scratches. The bore shows some slight roughness at the breech, some of which may clean. Bright and excellent from the area past th breech to muzzle. Est: $1,400 - $2,800
