Rare TLS signed “Maxwell Perkins, Exec.,” one page, 4.75 x 7.75, Charles Scribner's Sons letterhead, January 13, 1947. Letter to Marion Saunders, in full: "I have arranged for the publication in French of The Web and the Rock with Marguerat, and Of Time and the River with Editions Stock. The other books are under option and I am not sure that Look Homeward, Angel wasn't published years ago before it came under my control." Perkins adds a handwritten brief note to the upper left, "Tell Jessie this." The letter also features secretarial pencil notations. In fine condition.
