An important contributor to the French etching revival in the 1860s, Maxime Lalanne was also a highly-regarded draughtsman whose etchings and charcoal drawings were exhibited at the Salons. He is best known for views of Paris and Bordeaux and landscapes, particularly views of Paris streets.
