Prague-born writer and composer (1884–1968) who was an associate and confidant of Franz Kafka and mentor to Franz Werfel. Brod’s own works include the well-regarded expressionistic novel Nornepygge Castle. AQS, in German, on an off-white 4 x 6 sheet, signed at the bottom, “Max Brod.” Brod pens one stanza from one of his works, signing at the bottom. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Brod’s hand, and signed along the left hand side. In fine condition, with a few light wrinkles to sheet, and some scattered light creasing and toning to envelope.
