Mauser model 98 sniper rifle by J. P. Sauer & Son, marked “CE 44” (1944) on breech, showing swept-back mount with ZF4 scope. Serial #2826. All matching visible serial numbers on metal parts, the stock shows 1TRZmarking on right side, and large stamp #3087, with traces of marking behind triggerguard which is not discernable. The safety shows a finger extension that is waffen proofed, also waffen 359 proofs in 3 places on the breechon left side barrel. Barrel marked “FXO” and large “0” (zero) on right side. The rail of the left side of the receiver is not marked but is nicely fit and mounted and appears correct. The cast metal mount is fitted tothis rail and shows no markings. The scope is marked “GW ZF4”, last three digits “845” with large “L” marking. The scope is secured to the mounts by screws with springs. The optics are clear and in very good condition.The markings are good, action good, bore very good plus. Stocks also good to very good with nice raised grain, just normal handling and use.
