SN: 108383 Custom single shot bench rest target rifle built using an early & rare Wehrmanns tubular enclosed receiver with notch for mounting a diopter sight. A prototype of this limited production receiver is discussed and photo on p.144-145 of "The Mauser Archive" by Jon Speed. Features a 28" long, 1-5/16" diameter bull barrel, finished in the white, with screw mounted dovetail type scope bases. Receiver has Mauser banner, machined tray for holding a single cartridge, numbers on bolt parts match. Bottom metal is a triggerguard bow and flat plate with no magazine. Trigger is single stage adjustable target type with wide shoe. Wood stock appears laminated from many pieces (some different coloration and maybe different species of wood) glued together before shaping into a thumbhole benchrest style with 13" length of pull, 3-3/8" wide & 2-1/8" tall beavertail forend with flat recess at center, wide flat profile to bottom of butt, raised cheek piece for right handed shooter, grooved comb to allow bolt clearance. Bore is in excellent condition. Receiver has thinning grayish color bluing, bolt and bottom metal are a dark color blue. Stock is in very good condition with dings, dents, and scratches.
