Mauser Model 71/84 Sporter 43 Mauser Single Shot Rifle

Mauser Model 1871, adopted as the Gewehr 71 or Infanterie-Gewehr 71, or Infantry
Rifle 71 (I.G.Mod.71/84 is stamped on the rifle), was the first rifle model in a
distinguished line designed and manufactured by Paul Mauser and Wilhelm Mauser
of the Mauser company and later mass-produced at Spandau arsenal.

This one is a sporterized single shot cutdown version.

Gun is in fair condition and shoots only one round at a time. The safety has been
disconnected and does not work.
Front sight is not original and has been fixed by glue to the barrel.
Wood is chipped along edge where it meets the receiver. There are a few cracks
evident behing steel butt plate. One crack in forestock area behind barrel band.

Barrel has been cut down to about 21 inches and bore is very dark. Faint rifling is evident.
