An early production 1896 commercial contract small ring hammer variation Broomhandle pistol, complete with the original matching serialized wooden shoulder stock/holster. Blade and 1000-yard tangent sights, with the top of the chamber marked with the 3-line address, serial number and "crown / U" on the left, Ulm antler on the right and a set of gothic letter proofs on the underside. The "crown / U" is repeated on the top of the cocking knob. Standard address on right side of frame, with matching numbers on the lock, frame, backstrap, bolt handle, rear sight blade, bolt stop and back of the hammer. Fitted with two piece factory Gutta Percha grips carved with floral deigns and a Cherub with a Broomhandle in one hand and a knife in the other attacking a lion. The inside of each grip panel is numbered to the gun. Complete with the original wooden shoulder stock/ holster numbered to the gun.

Condition: Very fine, showing 90% plus original blue finish with some fading overall, high edge wear and thinning on the magazine sides. Minor spotting on the barrel, heavier on the left side of the magazine. Most of the fire blue remains on the safety and rear sight components and about 50% on the bolt stop. The grips are excellent showing very little wear. The stock is fine and shows a number of light scratches and a few minor dings and dents, and dark patina on the hardware. Mechanically excellent.
