Mauser Large Ring Broomhandle Semi-Automatic Pistol with Von Lengerke and Detmold Markings and Match
This is an excellent example of a retailer marked pre-war commercial Broomhandle Model 1896 Mauser pistol with shallow milled side panels and large ring hammer. The top of the chamber is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/ MAUSER/ OBERNDORF a/N" with "VON LENGERKE/ & DETMOLD/ NEW-YORK" marked in the center milled panel area on the left side. Von Lengerke & Detmold were New York importers and dealers active in the early 20th Century. The left side of the barrel extension and top of the bolt handle are marked with a "crown / U" proof and the underside of the barrel is marked with gothic letters. Matching serial number on major components including stamped on the inside of each 34 groove grip panel. The pistol has the standard inverted "v" front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 1,000 meters. Complete with the original matching wooden shoulder stock/holster with matching serial number stamped on the attaching iron.

Very fine. The pistol retains 90% faded original blue finish with wear on the muzzle and high edges. There are a few minor dings on the front of the magazine and light handling marks overall. Much of the original straw color remains on the trigger and most of the fire blue remains on the small components. Mechanically excellent. The grips are also very fine with a few minor dents and dings. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The shoulder stock is fine as reoiled with a few minor scuffs and dings.
