The 'Broomhandle', a German made semi-automatic DA/SA pistol chambered for 9x19mm, and manufactured in Oberndorf, Germany. This is the M-30 (Model 1930) "Broomhandle" pistol. This was the first C96 variant to have an official factory designation. This is an early M-30, with the serial number on the right side of the chamber area. Pistol features a gloss blued re-finish, a 5-1/2" tapered barrel, raised fixed blade front sight, 50-1000 meter adjustable rear sights, milled frame rails, smooth curved trigger, ten-round fixed box magazine, manual 'Universal' safety', back strap slotted for shoulder stock, smooth front strap, stripper clip guides, lanyard ring an butt, and two-piece twelve groove walnut grips. Pistol has the proper "Waffenfabrik Mauser" markings for this model on the top of the chamber flat, and one on the right side of the frame. There is a 'crown over U' proof mark (1891-1939) on the left side of the chamber, and another on top of the charging handle. A larger Mauser banner is on the left side of the frame. Trigger, safety, extractor, and some rear sight parts have a niter blue finish. The blued re-finish retained is approximately 98% with only superficial scratches, and much of the bluing is turning plum. Metal displays no deformation, but shows rust and pitting under the grip panels. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the action is smooth and crisp. Walnut grips are very good with normal scattered handling marks, and a couple of small dings. Pistol includes wooden C-96 shoulder stock/holster with leather strap and harness. The shoulder stock wood is good with light handling marks, edge losses, light finish loss, and rust on the wrist iron (where the stock and pistol backstrap connect).
Condition is NRA Good.
