Original signed ink sketch of Carol the Wild Thing on a 5.5 x 3.5 postcard. Typed above is a message, in part: “Thank you for your nice letter and for the beautiful picture the children drew for me. I really appreciated it, even though it has taken me so long to tell you so.” Lightly toned (a bit heavier along the left edge), scattered soiling, and show-through from an October 24, 1984, postal cancellation on the front, otherwise fine condition. Sendak sketches are not common.
