Highly influential French composer (1875–1937) who remains unsurpassed in his imaginative use of instrumental color in his operas, brilliantly scored orchestral music, and virtuosic piano pieces. Lengthy autograph musical manuscript, in pencil, on both sides of two adjoined double leaf musical manuscript pages, done while a pupil at the Paris Conservatoire between 1889-1905. Ravel writes 46 bars on four systems and other minor pieces, including a fugue composition, with Ravel labeling the works “Exposition,” and “Fin de la Fugue,” labeling one page “Fugue,” through the manuscript. In very good condition, with scattered toning and soiling, heavier to borders and edges, scattered edge creasing, and adhesive residue on back page.
