Belgian playwright, poet, and essayist (1862–1949) awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1911. Ink signature, "Maeterlinck, Nov. 1940,” on an off-white 6.25 x 9 sheet bearing an outstanding original ink sketch of the playwright by E. Maurice Bloch. In fine condition. Bloch was an eminent American art historian, professor, curator, and collector who was the founding director of UCLA's Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
