Directed by david Lean and released in 1965, <I>Doctor Zhivago</B></I> was a huge success and quickly became a classic; Maurice Jarre's haunting score earned him Golden Globe, Grammy, and Academy awards and has since become one of the most famous in cinematic history, and "Lara's Theme" in particular remains one of the most recognizable movie themes ever written.
