Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner (1906–1981) who considered his most important accomplishment the invention of a device that made it possible for amputees to drive. Rare vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of Rose in his Indy 500–winning race car, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “Best always to Johnny Moore—for his help and friendship, Mauri Rose, May 31, 1948.” Reverse bears an appropriate Indianapolis News stamp. In fine condition. An especially desirable photo, Rose won his final Indianapolis 500 in 1948.
