Ridgway," one page, 7.25 x 10, Headquarters of the Eighth United States Army letterhead, January 21, 1951, addressed to Ken Browne, in full: "Thank you for your cheering letter of January 10th. Such notes of encouragement from my fellow citizens are an important source of strength and resolution. It gives me great pleasure to send you the inclosed autographed photograph which you requested"; a matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Ridgway in his military uniform, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Mr. Ken Browne, with best wishes, Sincerely, M. B. Ridgway, Lt. Gen. USA, 21 Jan 51"; and a TNS signed with his initials, "M. B. R.," one page, 3.5 x 5.5, dated April 15, 1973, in full: "Not knowing your full First Name, or your Rank on the Retired List, excuse the address. With your love of history, particularly of the past twenty-five years when we were both on active duty, I commend three books listed on the other side of this slip." Books listed on reverse: 'Present at the Creation,' 'Notes on China,' and 'August 1914.' In overall very good to fine condition, with a few creases to the photo, and a few edge tears to the letter.
