Mathias Bernhard Braun (Prague 1684-1738)- Saint John of Nepomuk, bozzetto, around 1720, dressed in a canon's habit, depicted in a heavily animated pose and in a gesture of religious fervour, holding a martyr's palm between his crossed arms, the whole figure conveying the state of spiritual ecstasy, limewood, carved in full round, the gilding and polychromy slightly retouched, height ??? cm, on a grey marbleized stone base, (Er) The figure of Saint Nepomuk realized after this bozzetto was destined for St. Clement's Church in Prague. Exhibited in 1993 in the Bayrisches Nationalmuseum.
