This is a fine example of a quality made, finely inlaid matchlock musket which measures 56 1/2 inches overall. Brass bead and blade sights on the barrel, with a small proofmark on the top rear of the barrel and on the side of the lock plate. Light scroll engraving is present on the serpentine, and a handrest trigger guard is installed. Smooth, full length stock, with an iron forearm tip, ramrod pipe, and flat buttplate. Extensive carved bone inlay is present, with straight border patterns, floral vines, four oval panels on the buttstock scrimshawed with scenes of men at arms, and mother of pearl floral accents.
