1) Weyersberg (solingen) Army sword, 30 1/2 inch single fuller blade, etched on the spine and on each side with oak leaves, Nazi/Wehrmacht icons, and the text "Nachrichten-Abteilung 25" on the right. Nickel finished hilt, with wire wrapped celluloid grip. Black enamel finished sheath. 2) Eickhorn bayonet, 9 5/8 inch etched blade with "Fur Erinnerung/an meine Dienstzeit" on the right side and "Nachrichten-Abteilung No25/ Bad Cannstatt" on the left. Bad Cannstatt is a district of Stuttgart. Nickel finished hilt with checkered grips, and a black enamel finished sheath with a brown leather frog. Signal Battalion 25 was a component of the 25th Infantry Division, which participated in the invasions of both Poland and France. Later the 25th would be redesignated a motorized unit, seeing combat on the Eastern Front, and eventually a Panzergrenadier unit before war's end. Following it's near destruction at Minsk, the unit was reformed and saw combat in France and Germany in the last days of the war.
