Match pair of good quality sidelock double-barrel shotguns by Mario Besci of Italy, 12ga, two sets of barrels for each gun, single triggers, auto ejectors, English style straight stocks, select burl walnutnicely checkered, serial #03186 and #03187. The pair are contained within an Italian style luggage leather case with a plaid zipper cover. Gun #1 shows 26” barrels Skeet choked, and a set of “27-7/8” showingmatching low-profile non-ventilated hand-filed rib, choked “Cylinder” (right) and “Improved Cylinder” (left). Both sets are factory engraved From Mario Besci to Paul Henry. Mr. Henry was Consul to Costa Rica and a well-known shooter. The frame shows a good quality scroll and rosette engraving similar to English guns, and the guns show hand-detachable sidelocks. The engraving is signed “A. Muffolini”. The gun measures14-1/4” to the end of the wood, nearly 14-1/2” to the end of the hard-rubber pad. The barrels show 98-99% original blue. The frames show some slight discoloration.
