The included letter from antiques dealer Bill Hatfield confirms that this 2nd Generation Henry Rifle was built by Thomas Haas, Sr. of Spencer, Indiana and this rifle is the only one Haas built. Thomas Haas, Sr. (1920-2004) gained the reputation of being one of the premier gunsmiths of his generation. This quality modern representation of a Henry rifle has a blade front sight and a folding adjustable ladder rear sight, with HENRY'S PATENT. OCT. 16, 1860/MANUFACT'D. BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS. CO. NEW HAVEN. CT." stamped just ahead of the rear sight and the serial number stamped at the breech. Brown barrel, brass receiver and crescent buttplate, and casehardened hammer and lever. A sling hook loop is mounted on the left side of the barrel and a sling swivel is mounted on the left side of the buttstock. The rifle has a smooth straight grip stock.

Condition: Excellent. The barrel retains 98% plus of the finish with a few areas of light spotting and the hammer and lever retain nearly all of the case colors. The receiver and buttplate have a nice bright brass appearance. The stock is also excellent with some minor handling marks. A high quality representation of a Henry rifle built by a master gunsmith.
