Manufactured in 1894 and subsequently very nicely custom engraved. The revolver has floral scroll engraving, with a punch dot background on the barrel, cylinder flats, frame, trigger guard and grip straps, with a feather design on the top strap. The style is very similar to that of Winchester Master Engraver Nick Kusmit. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, "45 COLT" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the assembly number "692" marked on the loading gate and the letter "O" at the top of the hammer cut-out. Casehardened frame, blue remaining parts, hammer with polished sides, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt American Eagle relief grips.
BBL: 4 3/4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 45 long Colt
Finish: blue/casehardened
Grips: plastic
Serial Number: 154721
Condition: Master custom embellished, with 99% blue finish, showing light handling marks overall and a small amount of oxidation on the ejector rod housing, barrel and back of the hammer. The frame retains 99% bright case colors. The barrel has been shortened, and the ejector housing no longer sits flush to the muzzle, and the front sight has been altered. The grips are excellent with a few tiny dings on the bottoms and sharp checkering. Some of the markings are faded, but all are readable, and the engraving is clear. The action is very good.
