Massive pair of percussion pistols by Clough and Sons of Bath, England in French fitted case with accessories. The pair measure 16” overall with nearly 10” heavy octagon barrels in .52 caliber rifled measuring over 1 ¼”across the flats of the heavy octagon barrels. The pistols remain in fine to excellent original condition with 90% to 95% of their original tobacco colored brown finish with brilliant striping. The lock’sshow 75% to 85% case hardened colors as do the breech and tang’s. The small parts and screws show bright fire type blue and the trigger guards show considerable original finish and the pistols are numbered 1183 and1184. These pistols weigh nearly 4.5 pounds each. The pair are contained within a close fitted French style case lined in green felt. The interior of the case is in good condition with some fading and fraying andabsolutely made for these British pistols during the period of their use. The mold is a replacement of correct size but does not quite fit in the box. The flask shows most of its lacquer and is in very good condition.
