Massive flintlock naval style rail gun with cast naval brass cannon type barrel. The barrel is engraved in block letters “Liverpool” showing British proofs. The gun measures 40” overall with a 8 ½” in length lock plate of generousproportions. The barrel measures 3” to the outside diameter with a nearly 2 ¼” bore. The gun weighs approximately 32.5 pounds. The metal surfaces are in good condition with the frizzen showing resurfacing from a good deal of use. The lockretains its original hammer and small parts. The stock shows worming and breaks with some filler and repairs. The name Liverpool on the barrel may have been the name of a ship. This was really a fast and portable one man operated cannon foranti-personal use. Est.: $5,000-$10,000
