Massive double action pin-fire carbine signed “Mimers Brevete No. 10300” on left side of frame and also stamped “Mimers” etc. on left top flat of frame. The carbine shows a octagon barrel measuring 25 ¼” with stud onthe right side for saber type bayonet. This pin-fire is double action and shows a folding rear sight and a ejector on right side of frame. The gun has a nicely checkered select walnut stock and sling swivels. The bore is14mm plus and rifled of almost .56 caliber. The carbine is 42” overall. The metal surfaces show an old European quality refinish of which 95% remains showing some minor pitting and erosion along the flats ofthe barrel. The frame and mounts also have been beautifully European quality re-cased hardened. The trigger and hammer show original straw type finish. Stocks are near fine as refreshed and the action is good andthe interior is at least very good. Pin-fire carbines are unusual but this is the largest rifled specimen we have ever cataloged and it was produced at about the time of the Civil War and very possibly could’ve been imported
