Massive Kenjal style sword measuring 43” overall with 3 ½” wide blade and 8” long grip. This weapon though oversized is well balanced and may have been for a giant as it is useable if you can heft it. The blade isnicely etched showing the figure of a man with 5 heads along with a great deal of writing in what appears to be Arabic and a portrait of a man or noble near the tip and a Fox. On the reverse is a similar image ofthe man with 5 heads along with a great deal of writing and the portrait of a noble woman at its front with what may be a jackal near the tip. The grip is made of a thick Buffalo horn and the original oversized scabbard ismatching and nicely embossed. The metal hanger and tip are retained and the condition is good to very good overall. This is not a tourist piece although we would date it to the 19th or early 20th century. Est.:$800-$1,600.
