Large Damascus barrel with swamped muzzle and bead front sight. The barrel is embellished with decorative chiseled relief patterns and decorative brass overlays. The barrel has nine deep rifling grooves. Dished and grooved rear sight integral with the large iron band which secures the large wooden wall turret mount. Reportedly this rifle was used to shoot the camels that attacking enemy forces were riding. The lock and flash pan are brass, and the hammer, frizzen, spring and trigger guard are iron. The hammer is relief chiseled with floral patterns. The lock is marked "JOHAN MICHAEL" ahead of the hammer and features a wooded scene behind the hammer as well as floral designs in front of the hammer. Wooden ramrod secured by two brass pipes. Large straight grip half stock with simple decorative carving, bare butt and cheekpiece.

Fine. The barrel retains original brown finish with almost all of the Damascus pattern showing. Most of the brass overlays remain and have an aged patina. The lock and pan have an aged patina. The trigger guard shows some minor pitting. The stock and mounting block are good with some of the finish chipping off of the block and some overall scattered minor dings and dents on the stock. The action is fine. This weapon is both fine in condition and of a high quality of workmanship. Writer is very impressed with this weapon!
