Just like on the plate piece in the Anderson book, this certificate has had the original July date crossed out and altered to Christmas Eve. This piece has a triangle cancellation cut into the bottom removing part of Gardner's signature, but it is otherwise a superb looking piece. The pine-tree vignette at the left and the words "Witness my Hand" above the signature are printed in red. This is the first example of this certificate that we have ever seen. It's both extremely rare and very visually pleasing. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder.
