<B>Revolutionary War Massachusetts Muster Roll Manuscript Document.</B></I> "<I>A Muster Role of Capt Maxwell's Company in the first Battalion from the Massachusetts in the service of the United States commanded by Collo John Bailey Taken for Sept 1778</B></I>", 2 pages, 12.25" x 15.25", Danbury, Connecticut, October 1, 1778. Scarce early American military document listing officers, non-coms and enlisted men for a decimated company that had endured Valley Forge the previous winter. Columns give recruitment dates, name, term of service and "remarks". Signed by Colonel Bailey, Captain Maxwell and Ensign Peirce. Smoothed folds, normal aging. Fine condition.
