The Maschrabiyya is a frequently encountered architectural element in the Orient that functions as a visual and sun protection. It is usually composed of small-scale wood elements that form a complex pattern. In the present object, the openwork field is divided into a frame and a midfield. The wooden rods in the frame form small star patterns, while rosettes with stars are aligned in the midfield.

The piece shows usual wear marks. The wood shows some fine cracks, and the frame is slightly warped. There are some scratches and minor repairs in places. The wood shows a red stain. The dimensions are 93 x 46 x 4 cm.
