The present wooden grilles were often used in the Oriental architecture. They served as privacy and sun protection, while the interior was still vented through the open construction. The traditional small-scale elements are assembled into complex geometric patterns. The present grilles were coated with a red stain.
The piece is in good overall condition, showing only slight wear. Three small wood elements are missing. The dimensions are 100 x 46 x 2.5 cm.
