Mary Pickford Signature Accompanying 11 x 14 Hu
Mary Pickford Signature Accompanying 11" x 14" Hurrell Photo. A dramatic yet charming full-length Hurrell glossy portrait of Mary Pickford, in sashed robe, a glimpse of negligee at bodice, elegantly languishing by a curtain. Accompanying the portrait is a 2.5" x 3.5" paper signed in black ink "Mary Pickford," sharply underlined by the actress who was known as "America's Sweetheart." She was, of course, much more -- a founder of the Motion Picture Academy and United Artists Studio, winner of a Best Actress Oscar for Coquette (1929), the hostess at Pickfair, the first star (along with then-husband Douglas Fairbanks) to place her prints in the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre -- indeed, few stars ever personified so much dynamic Hollywood history. Little wonder the Academy presented her with a 1976 Honorary Oscar for "her unique contributions to the film industry." On the verso "Please Credit Hurrell" is stamped at the top, with "Mary Pickford " stamped at bottom. Several numbers are printed in ink on the bottom right border -- otherwise photo and autograph are in Excellent condition. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
