Marvel Mystery Comics #14 (Timely, 1940) CGC FN+ 6.5 Cream to off-white pages. Although the U.S.A. was not yet at war, Alex Schomburg depicted the Sub-Mariner helping the British hold off hordes of Nazi paratroopers. The cover also features a miniature image/advertisement of Human Torch #2(#1) which was hitting the stands at the same time. Featured interior artists include Carl Burgos, Fred Gustavson, and the ever-popular Bill Everett. Inside this issue is one of just a handful of Simon/Kirby Vision stories--certainly one of the most intriguing abandoned superheroes of the Golden Age. Although listed as having cream to off-white pages, they appear to be more off-white than cream. This copy has well-preserved colors--deep rich blood reds and delicate sky blues that give this little gem the appearance of a much higher grade. The CGC census lists only one copy in higher grade. Overstreet 2002 FN 6.0 value = $708. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
