Program from a dinner at which Martin Luther King Jr. spoke shortly after being honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. A week after winning, King arrived in Cleveland to lead a march promoting voter turnout. He left the march for one night to appear and speak at this dinner benefiting the Southern Christian Leadership Organization. The cover indicates the event was sponsored by the Cleveland Civic Committee and held at the Sheraton Cleveland Hotel. Inside, a list of American Nobel Peace Prize Winners appears alongside the evening's itinerary, which lists King as speaker. 4pp. card-style program measures 6.25'' x 8.5''. Toning to left edge, scattered light soiling, and a small crease to the upper left. Very good.
