Important German philosopher (1889–1976) whose Being and Time was a fundamental text in the development of existentialism. Partial ALS in German, one page, 8.5 x 12, no date. Final portion of a letter to painter and illustrator Emil Preetorius, about his project of an academy or a congress about the "The language.” Heidegger expresses his thoughts about language and science (loosely translated): “Therefore I have refused Viettas’ request to talk in Darmstadt to speak about ‘language.’ As soon as I have more information I will let you know.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, staple hole to top left, and a few light creases.
